Keep in mind that the below itinerary and activities are subject to change. Travel almost always involves unexpected situations so things might need to be re-arranged at times. However, it is important to remember that travel is all about the journey, and so even the unexpected situations we may face should be treated as part of the overall experience.

Your guide will be in Delhi starting 2 days prior to the tour and it's highly recommended that you arrive at least one day before the start of the trip in order to adjust and get over any jet lag before we start exploring. The trip officially starts on February 17th, 2018 and if you do arrive early, we can book extra nights of accommodation for you in Delhi at the hotel we will be using for the tour. The cost is approximately $50 USD per night (for a single room or double room including breakfast).

Airport pick-ups can also be arranged for $25 USD. Either your guide or one of our reliable drivers will be waiting for you inside the Delhi airport with a sign and will take you straight into the city to the hotel.

Prices are based on the sharing of rooms and single members of the group will be put together in a twin room with 2 separate beds. (If you wish to have a private room to yourself, there is a single supplement available.)

While the tour itself is not very strenuous, please note that it can involve the following: somewhat long days, a good amount of walking, being in the sun in potentially hot temperatures, long journeys by bus or train (including overnight trips), early morning wake-ups and other similarly challenging scenarios.

  • Accommodation in comfortable 3* guesthouses/hotels
  • Meals – Breakfasts plus 10 lunches/dinners
  • Transportation – all transportation within India during the tour (trains, flights, vans, etc.)
  • All included activities and associated entrance & guide fees
  • Plenty of surprises along the way!

  • Flights or other transportation to/from India
  • Meals/drinks/activities not mentioned
  • International travel/health insurance
  • Passport/visa fees
  • Tips and gratuities

If you plan to stay longer in Delhi after the tour, we can also book post-trip accommodation for you if needed. We'll arrive back in Delhi on the evening of March 1st and the tour ends on March 2nd. You may book your departure flight for any time on March 2nd or later.

A couple of months prior to the trip we will send out a Travel Arrangements Form for you to fill in with your flight details and pre- and post-trip accommodation needs.

"I can not say enough good things about our India trip and there’s no way to express in words how grateful I am for the experience. You really paid attention to everyones individual interests and genuinely wanted to make everyone happy. It felt so personalized. The service was concierge level! All the little details and surprises you put into the tour just made it so special… and you were able to answer everyones questions with your knowledge of the country!! The accommodations, drivers, and other guides were awesome too! ... I can go on forever. I only took away great memories and I look forward to doing another tour in the future!" - Amanda W.

After a morning orientation, we'll embark on a full day of wandering around this sprawling city; we'll visit religious and historical sights in both Old and New Delhi, including the stunning Akshardham Temple, the Bangla Sahib Sikh Temple and Chandni Chowk, the largest market in the city; lunch will be at a famous local eatery that's been around for over 100 years

We will take a 4 hour drive to Agra and check-in to our unique homestay before visiting the amazing Taj Mahal in the afternoon and evening; we'll then have a home cooked dinner and some time to relax on the rooftop of the homestay

It's called the “Pink City” due to the color of some of its 19th century buildings, and it's a great entrance point into the state of Rajasthan; this city has it all – forts, palaces, temples, gardens and a vibrant local market, as well as a famous cinema unlike any other – and you'll get a chance to experience it all

DAY 5, 6 | BUNDI

This lesser visited town is a true gem...with pastel blue colored buildings, a walkable old town and one of the most impressive (and unknown) palaces and forts you'll see anywhere; with 2 days here, you'll enjoy the laid-back atmosphere, chat with friendly locals and even embark on a special excursion into the beautiful and remote countryside

One of the most striking and romantic cities in India, we'll have 3 days to wander the lanes, taste the local cuisine, catch surreal views of the landscapes, admire the works of local artisans, head out to a local village and pay a visit to one of the most important and impressive Jain temples in the world

The holiest city in all of India, this is where we witness a truly eye-opening combination of the strange, wonderful, disturbing, awe-inspiring and everything in between; with walks along the busy ghats and through the ancient old city, sunrise boat rides on the holy Ganges River, observing religious ceremonies, gurus, pilgrims and the constant open-air cremations...this city will etch itself in your memory forever
